Siaya Rejects Circumcision

We arrived in Siaya town in the afternoon of Tuesday 30th March, 2021 in readiness for our live-on-air radio talk show which was to broadcast on 88.8 Kababa fm.

The show began a few minutes before 10pm running upto 11:30pm that night. The show host was one Edward Bande who took Caleb Anyange and I through a vigorous session of questioning pertaining to the stand of Intact Kenya on abolishment of male circumcision, especially that forced on children.

During the first half of the talk show, we took our listeners through a journey of explaining reasons why the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) has to be stopped. VMMC violates the genital autonomy of boys, it disregards the fundamental functions of the erotogenous foreskin and in some cases has led to death if a botched circumcision occurs.

We got the rare opportunity to share, with both our host and listeners, the latest report which recently revealed how circumcision causes fistula in younger boys. The report which appeared in the Journal BMC Urology, and also featured in one of the local Daily Newspapers in Kenya, The Standard, talks about an investigation which found that there are cases of fistula in younger boys below the age of 15 which is solely blamed on circumcision. Most of the fistulas were recorded in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda.

After a short commercial break, listeners were allowed to make calls and send short text messages either to air their views and opinions or ask questions. The first person to make a phone call asked why Intact Kenya is opposing the massive rollout of circumcision in Nyanza while some biblical scriptures like that in the Book of Genesis 17:12 supports it. We quickly responded to the question, saying that all of the blood sacrifices in the Old Testament were rendered obsolete by the blood that was shed during the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. We further laced it up with a few biblical texts which emphasises awakening Christians on spiritual circumcision, but not that of cutting the mortal flesh. Galatians 5:1-13, Galatians 15:1-10, Galatians 2-16, Acts 15:1-10, Titus 1:10-11, 1st Corinthians 12:18, 1st Corinthians 7:17-19, Philippians 3:2-3, Timothy 4:7, and Psalms 139:13-14 were some of the verses which we retrieved to remind our listeners to read so as to learn more about the spirituality of circumcision.

A few other listeners asked why we waited for so long before coming out publically with the useful circumcision information. They regretfully said that many men, young boys and even infants have already been harmed, some to extremely dangerous levels, by the fraudulently medicalised circumcision disguised under the VMMC umbrella. There was another caller who asked whether soap should be used in washing the Foreskin and the area around it. One listener wanted to know where our offices are located.

  1. It is wonderful that you are doing this in Africa. a continent that is still very much in the process of getting over the damage done to it by European colonialism. It is now targeted as the next money pot for the developed nations of tghe world. The US being one of them. and they mutilate thier childrens genitals. They are however waking up and the practice is slowly reducing with education. However the foreskin is worth more then its weight in gold to several billion dollar industry’s. As is the subconscious anger to the reapers of the discord of revolution and war. America and its ally Zion are preparing Africa for a sustained siege unless you successfully begin to stop these cut-outs.

  2. ¡Bravo to those of you who are fighting for the RIGHT – not rite – to your own intact bodies!
